Chippewa Boots
What Chippewa Boots Are Made Of

Chippewa has been producing boots for since 1901. The company has a reputation for good quality. Today, they are part of the prestigious Justin Brands Inc. family.

The first Chippewa boots were designed for loggers, which were designed to assist them as they cut and rolled down the logs down the river to the mills. Since then, the company began to produce other product lines based on their highly successful logger boots.

Chippewa boots use only the finest materials, the best construction techniques, and the most innovative technology. Here are their leading products and the materials and technology used on them.

1) Loggers – this is the first and classic Chippewa boot that started it all. This boot is claimed to be the most durable and rugged of all logging boots. Even if the product line has expanded, most of the company’s boots have the following features.

Loggers use thick leather that has high oil content. The oil prevents water and dust from being absorbed into the boots. The soles of these boots are made out of Vibram Yellow Plug Soles, which are some of the most durable outsoles ever made. The soles also have advanced tread designs to give the wearer the best traction.

Chippewa boots use Goodyear Welted Construction technique, which adds to the boots’ durability. Also, the western boots are stitched, not glued. An added benefit to this type of construction is that the soles are replaceable.

Other features of Loggers boots include the Kush-n-Kollar comfort material that lessens the strain on the lower calf and feet, ANSI tested and certified steel toes boots that are necessary to protect the feet, Texon ant-bacterial insole that keeps the feet dry by wicking away moisture, and the Body Cushion Orthopedic Insole that is engineered biomechanically for comfort and protection.

2) Motorcycle – Aside from the standard features, Chippewa’s motorcycle boots have toe shifter pads. These pads protect the toes and arch of each feet from fatigue and sores, which happens due to frequent shifting of gear. The removable lining is made of leather, and the upper padding provides great comfort when riding a bike.

The metal used in its buckles is non-tarnishable. That means the buckles retain an eye-catching glimmer that is as polished and shiny as your well-cared bike.

3) Snake – these are great boots if you trek or work outdoors into rugged terrain. These boots are designed to protect the feet against poisonous snakes that might launch a surprise attack.

In addition to the standard features, these Chippewa boots are made of 1000 Denier Cordura Viper Cloth, a tough yet flexible material that virtually makes the boot impenetrable. The material also protects the feet and lower legs from thorns and bushes.

4) Packers – these boots are designed for travel. Outdoorsmen and horse riders will surely love these rugged and dependable boots. Packers are made of heavy duty waxed leather, which protects the feet from nature’s elements. The soles are made of Vibram Nitrile—oil resistant, durable, and made to be flat so that they could easily slip into stirrups.

The insoles of Packers are made out of soft, cushiony, and porous materials for superb comfort.
